This is the background of the "Buck Rogers" Remake image I did for The ENGINE. I ganked my own image here, from an old vector drawing of a deco cityscape I did for my LITTLE WHITE MOUSE series. Tossed into Photoshop, re-colored and distressed, and VOILA! A trashed out poster!

Thanks! I dig your NIN poster as well. You should do more work in that direction, you have a good eye for type.

Thanks! I love old Deco posters, and "Rocketeer" is an homage that I really love.

This is awsome, a very deco feel to it!

That's cool! How did you 'distress' it?

I had a texture scan from a drum head that I scanned in, placed it on a layer above and set the layer to either "darken" or "color dodge", and that affected only the darker areas and left the light area alone. I think I also messed with the opacity of the layer as well.

I've got scans of rust, dirt, torn paper, crumpled paper and other cool texture scanned expressly for adding texture to images. Layers are powerful, powerful friends!

Ah, right. I've experimented with similar techiques using textures etc. They work very well :)
