Warren Ellis asked me to create a week's worth of these fake "movie title cards" to use as daily station IDs for his website.
I'd been messing around with some type and PhotoShop effects to get the appearance of an old style typographic title card that would have appeared in an old movie trailer from the 1930's/1940's era, working to make it appear a bit over-exposed like an old decaying print of the film. If these were animated, the words would appear in dramatic wipes, with orchestral stabs timed along for effect.
Given Ellis' penchant for being the hard writing/hard drinking writer model, I chose the theme of the week's worth of cards and came up with all the phrases myself. I'll release them to DeviantArt as he posts them.

Oh, and kids: Don't drink unless you are of legal age, and if you do drink as an adult, please do so responsibly. I do all my art stone cold sober, so take from that what you will...
interesting idea, i'm getting a dizzying feeling from the design though. I think there might be too many lines/directions from the background of the pic (not the text though)
Here's a terrible secret; I had the bartender give me the best bottle of Scotch for the bottle, but he poured the least expensive Scotch brands he had in the glass, and ended up pouring it back in the bottle after I was finished shooting, because I can't stand Scotch.
But thanks, regardless.
