Artist's Comments

Old gouache painting I dug up from a series of color studies done in synch with music. My attempt was to convey the feel of the music I was listening to in the content of the image.

This image was created listening to the live album "Everything Everything" by Underworld. Driving, repetitive melodic electronic music, I worked to mimic the feel of the music in the kind of strokes and elements I used.

Gouache on paper, masked with tape on the sides while painting.

I totally get an electronic vibe from this, and I dig the color scheme. :D

"Dreyfus once wrote that on Devil's Island he would see the most glorious birds. Many years later in Brittany he realized they had only been seagulls. To me," she said, "they will always be glorious birds."
