This week's REMAKE challenge from the Warren Ellis WHITECHAPEL boards.
The brief:
"Adam Mann is conducting experiments with the radioactive isotope Uranium-235, and is caught in a "weird chemical accident" giving him atomic powers. He uses these powers to covertly fight crime and Communism as Atomic Man. His powers include super strength, flight, and projecting energy blasts from his right hand. To control and neutralize his power, he wears a lead glove over his hand and takes it off when he wants to turn the powers on. "

My take: another propaganda poster, this time showing the Atomic Man being the new power of world control for the benefit of the USA. Partly a marketing move as well, Atomic Man is shown as a caring, compassionate weapon, protecting the helpless. Because letting a man with a radioactive power hand hold your baby is ALWAYS a good idea!

Ver effective imagery --- the style reminds me of the Golden Books' adaptions of Disney movie. My one critique would be that perhaps a more "up-down" camera angle would make Atomic Man look more heroic, like certain portrayals of the Statue of Liberty emphasize the torch pointing up by making the viewer angle start at her feet.

Yes, that is the best thing to do to your child is hand them over to the walking nular reactor lol.

I like the geometrical, shape-ish style of this piece (not sure if that made sens ^^;)

And the idea to make a propaganda poster out of it was certainly creative! :thumbsup: over all!
